In Systems of Drift, Mieke explores the unconscious gesture. These collages arise from her meeting doodles she has been saving during the years: spontaneous marks made while listening, thinking, half-present in conversation. What begins as distraction becomes discovery — a map of mental images. Each piece reveals a small ecosystem of images stored in her memory. Moulded by the ongoing activity of meetings: lines and patterns that register parts of conversations, recall code fragments, architectural grids, city maps or reflect visual memories. ​The series uncovers the creative potential hidden within attention’s drift — the moment when logic loosens and intuition begins to draw. Systems of Drift is both diary and diagram, a quiet ode to the visual echoes of thought.
